Math Intuitions

Students in this class will explore math through puzzles and projects. Challenges presented to students will draw on their strengths and build intuitions for more complex ideas. Open ended questions will provide a framework on which to develop problem solving skills as well as introduce troublesome topics in an intuitive and approachable manner.
This class is meant to lay the mathematical groundwork for students to facilitate their success in pre-algebra. We will use a variety of activities, explorations, and exercises to build reasoning and problem solving skills. These tools will serve students in future math classes and beyond.

Negatives
Simple Graphing
Geometry
Number lines
Skip counting
Arithmetic
Arrays
Area
Primes
Factors
These topics will help students lay the foundation for algebraic understanding in the future math classes.
