Algebra 1 provides a comprehensive look at the study of algebra and algebraic ideas. Students will be challenges to develop and hone critical thinking and creative problem solving skills to meet the Common Core standards in Algebra. Throughout the class, will cover the following topics:
Linear Modeling and Regressions
Exponentials and their graphs
Quadratics (factoring, solving and graphing)
Inequalities
Two-way tables
Function
Inverses/Transformations
Statistical Analysis
Functions
Interpreting Linear Equations
Slopes
Graphing Lines
Fluency with exponents
Modeling Algebra Geometrically
Solving linear equations
Systems of equations (interpreting, solving, graphing)
Arithmetic and Geometric Sequences
This class will use many modern teaching techniques and common core best practices. To maximize student engagement and understanding, they will be doing the following:
